About Junior
Junior Kamala heads mountain operations and senior guiding at Olympus Adventure. He has summited Mount Kilimanjaro more than 200 times across all major routes — Machame, Lemosho, Rongai, Marangu and the technical Northern Circuit — and has trained many of the finest mountain crews on the continent.
Off the mountain, Junior is one of Olympus Adventure's most experienced big-cat trackers, guiding photographic safaris across the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and the remote Ruaha and Katavi ecosystems. He is a certified wilderness first responder and an advocate for the highest safety standards on every climb and every drive.
His articles focus on the technical craft of safari and mountain travel — routes, gear, fitness, wildlife behavior and reading the landscape.
